Thank you for visiting the Contempo Concepts  e-commerce store and respecting that the information and content found on this website is the sole property of Contempo Concepts. It is only available to you while cruising our site, trying to get ideas, and helping with your buying decisions. It is our intent to make your visit as profitable and pleasant as possible.

Price Match

We strive to offer you the best price possible on everything, all the time. That being said, occasionally someone will get crazier on their pricing than we do. If this happens, please send us the price quote in writing or direct us to the price on line and we will be happy to match it.  Items subject to manufactures MAP pricing  (minimum advertised pricing) are exempt from price matches because some manufactures will void their warranties if their products are sold below their MAP prices. We don't want that to happen on our site.


In an effort to simplify the logistics of you getting the furniture you have purchased from Contempo Concepts in a damage-free condition, we have adopted a simplified process by eliminating “free shipping” with the added value of “good old fashioned personalized delivery”.   Contempo has been in the furniture business for over twenty-two years and we were at the forefront of e-commerce with our first web site originating back in the late 1990’s.  We have with little success been able to ship by common carrier, FedEx or UPS, and get the desired results. Our customers’ furniture almost never arrives in acceptable condition. Claims against these carriers are lengthy and normally go unsettled.  Our customers expect their purchases to be delivered in acceptable condition and placed in their home without a fuss. Most of the time “free shipping” is never as free as it seems.  The customer unloads the truck, argues with the truck driver whether the lift gate charge is covered, and if the customer is not there who knows where the furniture will go. Will it be in street, your driveway, or your doorstep? Then how do you dispose of these cartons and packing supplies?  Are you allowed to inspect the furniture for concealed damage and missing parts, and if it is damage, is it your responsibility to then repackage and return the item at your expense? Most online merchants ship your furniture to you unassembled in a carton and it is your responsibility to inspect and assemble the purchase yourself (that is if all the necessary parts are included).

It may sound as if we are trying to discourage you from buying your furniture from online retailers.  We are not.  We just know from twenty-two years of experience, customer’s expectations are rarely met with “free shipping.”

We only deliver to Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina so we can use our own trucks to control the quality of your furniture experience. The delivery charges include the assembling, deluxing, and desired placement of your furniture in your home.  These charges are not designed to be another “added on profit center” that most stores use to increase their bottom line; instead, it is to help offset the extra expense we incur to deliver your furniture ourselves. They are calculated solely by zip codes, not weight or price. For example, if you order a night stand and you live in northern Virginia, shipping would be the same price if you order the whole bedroom suite, a dining room suite, and living room suite. It is the same price for us to send a truck with one piece of furniture and a truck with a house-full of furniture. When you add these extra services we are enhancing your shopping experience.



If you don't want it, we don't want you to have it! However, to ensure that this approach to customer satisfaction is beneficial to all parties involved, please review the following terms and conditions.

If you are not satisfied with your item, you may send it back to us within 48 hours of receipt for a refund or exchange. No returns or exchanges will be accepted after this period and prior authorization by Contempo Concepts is needed. To receive a refund, your item must still be in its factory sealed packaging, unopened or tampered with. Returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee. All shipping charges, including the original costs of delivery, will be the responsibility of the customer should you decide to return or exchange an item. Shipping delays are NOT cause for exemption from this policy. We make every effort to work with the best trucking companies; however occasionally delays occur. All authorized refunds of payments by credit card will be credited to the originally charged account within two weeks.

Contempo Concepts does not deliver furniture on approval.  Cancellations or changes will be permitted only if we can do so with the manufacturer. A 50% deposit will be forfeited on any orders we are unable to cancel with the manufacture.  A 25% restocking fee will be charged on orders that are canceled and returned with our permission.

**Special order items, mattresses and other bedding items are non-returnable.**


Contempo Concepts will honor all manufacturer warranties and these will differ from company to company. Defects caused by abuse or negligence are not covered. Manufacturer warranties are only valid to the original purchaser upon proof of purchase and are void if goods are moved to another address. We do not warrant the wearing ability, color fastness, stretching or shrinking of furniture coverings as they are not guaranteed by the manufacturer.  Colors may vary somewhat due to dye lot variations between sample swatches and the final product. Color and grain variations in the wood and leather are “nature’s own,” and enhance the value of your furniture.  Additionally, the inherent characteristics of fine woods affect how they absorb stains.  As a result, Contempo Concepts cannot ensure the matching of related pieces of various surfaces on the same item. Fossil stone, marble, and granite are natural products.  Inconsistencies in color and grain should be expected and appreciated. Fillings are often used to enhance the surface beauty.  These characteristics are within industry standards and are acceptable. Glass, mirrors, Lucite and metal finishes may be subject to small seed, slight area of discoloration, minor surface or subsurface scratches. Inconsistent weld points are inevitable in furniture hand crafted of metal.  The characteristics are within industry standards and are acceptable.
